"'Old' is not anyone's defining attribute" The world’s fastest-growing market is also its most misunderstood For decades, conventional ...
2Life Communities believes that every older adult, age 62 and better, deserves the opportunity to live a full life of connection and purpose in a dynamic, supportive environment. We have traditionally developed housing in Greater Boston that is affordable through government-subsidized programs. We continue to expand that important work.
With Opus, we will add something new. In creating Opus, 2Life has drawn on its core values to put a whole new kind of community within the financial reach of those “in the middle”. This group does not qualify for subsidized housing, nor can they comfortably afford the upscale options in the regional marketplace.
Opus will not be income restricted; it is designed to serve those in the middle market at a price within reach, offering a true alternative choice for aging in community here in our area.
There are few choices in the Boston area for people who have saved for retirement but can’t afford a high-cost senior living community. Too many of the people who have been here for decades feel like they only have two choices in retirement: stay in their own home or move someplace far away. Members of the Opus community will find new friends nearby and remain close to old neighbors. It’s senior living in Massachusetts for people age 62 or better that offers engagement, support and as-needed services with contemporary apartment designs and inspiring programs, all in one place. Opus community members will join in creating a vibrant and caring community for the next phase of life.
Living in community allows us to create a life we love as we grow older. All community members will be empowered to share time and talents to build a truly engaged community alongside our dedicated, knowledgeable staff and fabulous tapestry of partners. Everyone at Opus will be able to share the activities they love most with the people they will come to know and admire as friends and neighbors. Whether organizing social events, participating in new educational or wellness programs, or providing support for a fellow community member, these contributions will lead to new opportunities to connect as a community. This connection is what will set Opus apart from other options for senior living in Massachusetts, and is also the key to living a fulfilling and purposeful life.
